What is a prep station?

Prep stations allow you to instruct a printer (label or receipt) to only print certain items or to avoid printing certain items (inclusive vs exclusive).

Requirements

  • SDP label or receipt printer

  • Internet Connection.

  • Device Registered on Snackpass.

Steps:

  1. Find the device in the store devices page and click "Edit". Please note the serial number (last 4 should do) as it will help identifying it later

  2. if it's a label printer, choose between condensed and full labels (see document above, under related articles, for visual representation); if it's a receipt printer, you must change to "Chit".

  3. Save Changes if it's a receipt printer you've switched to Chit, and click Edit again ; otherwise, continue to step 4.

  4. Navigate to the bottom: Prep Station Settings. There, you can click create

  5. You may then craft a Name, Select the printer (use serial number you noted above), and choose between inclusive and exclusive: the former tells the printer what to print, the latter what not to print. Reject Product Override lets you exclude products from a category you allowed; allowed products let you select only one item from a category that is otherwise excluded.

  6. Save changes to prep station, link it to the printer under "Choose Prep Station" and save changes at the printer as well!

That's it! You've now configured Prep stations

if menu changes are made, particularly new categories being created, make sure you update prep stations so they are not left out or included!
