Replacement: Models A & B Card reader

To replace a card reader for Models A & B (both BBPOS & M2), follow the below guide

For Models A & B

BBPOS card reader

Note: the video attached will provide the full process, for individual steps, continue below

  1. How to replace the card reader

    1. Remove the card reader from the card reader mount and unplug the cable

    2. Take the replacement card reader, plug it in and clip it into the mount

    3. To connect your card reader to the device, follow this guide

      1. A USB connection is preferred for the BBPOS card reader

  2. How to replace the card reader cable

    1. Remove the card reader from the card reader mount and unplug the cable

    2. Unscrew the metal plate (2 screws - put these away for later use) that houses the card reader mount

    3. Remove the metal plate

    4. Unscrew the monitor mount (2 screws - put these away for later use)

    5. Open the monitor mount, unplug the cable from the monitor and remove from the kiosk

    6. Route the replacement cable

    7. Close and screw shut the monitor mount

    8. Organize excess cabling inside the stand (leave enough slack to reach the card reader)

    9. Put the metal plate back onto the card reader and have the cable feed underneath the metal plate

    10. Plug the card reader into the cable and clip back into the mount

Your replacement should now be complete!


M2 card reader

  1. How to replace the card reader

    1. Remove the card reader from the card reader mount and unplug the cable

    2. Take the replacement card reader, plug it in and clip it into the mount

    3. To connect your card reader to the device, follow this guide

      1. M2 readers cannot be connected through a USB connection

  2. How to replace the card reader cable

    1. Unplug the cable from the card reader and unscrew the metal plate (2 screws - put these away for later use) that houses the card reader mount

    2. Remove the metal plate

    3. Unscrew the monitor mount (2 screws - put these away for later use)

    4. Open the monitor mount, unplug the cable from the monitor and remove from the kiosk

    5. Route the replacement cable

    6. Close and screw shut the monitor mount

    7. Put the metal plate back onto the card reader and have the cable feed underneath the metal plate - screw the metal plate back on

    8. Clip the card reader back into the mount and plug the reader in

Your replacement should now be complete!


BBPOS to M2 reader

  1. How to remove the BBPOS card reader

    1. Remove the card reader from the card reader mount and unplug the cable

    2. Unscrew the metal plate (2 screws - put these away for later use) that houses the card reader mount

    3. Remove the metal plate

    4. Unscrew the monitor mount (2 screws - put these away for later use)

    5. Open the monitor mount, unplug the cable from the monitor and remove from the kiosk

  2. Replacing the card mount

    1. Unscrew the mount from the rear of the metal plate (2 screws - put these away for later use)

    2. Take the 2 nuts in the BBPOS mount and remove them

    3. Place the 2 nuts from the BBPOS mount into the M2 mount, screw back into the metal plate

    4. Unscrew the monitor mount (2 screws - put these away for later use)

    5. Open the monitor mount, unplug the cable from the monitor and remove from the kiosk

    6. Route the replacement cable

    7. Close and screw shut the monitor mount

    8. Put the metal plate back onto the card reader and have the cable feed underneath the metal plate - screw the metal plate back on

    9. Clip the card reader back into the mount and plug the reader in

Your replacement should now be complete!
