Onboarding: Connect A Card Reader

Once your card reader is installed, use the below guide to connect the card reader to your device

Setup

  1. Ensure Proper Setup:

    • Make sure the card reader is powered on and plugged into the kiosk/register.

    • Confirm that the your device is connected to the internet.

  2. Charge the Card Reader:

    • Allow the card reader to charge to at least 50%. To check the battery level, briefly press the power button on the side. At least 2 solid LEDs should be displayed.

  3. Connect the Card Reader:

    • Open the SnackOs app. It should prompt you to connect to a card reader. If the reader was previously connected, it should connect automatically.

  4. Connect via SnackOs App:

    • In the SnackOs app, go to the Settings app.

    • Select CARD READER from the left side menu.

    • Choose the option to connect via USB (recommended) or Bluetooth. Click Find through USB.


  5. Connect The Card Reader:

    • Your card reader should appear in the "DISCOVERED" section.

    • A pop-up will appear asking if you want to connect to the card reader. Check the box and click Accept.

    • Click CONNECT next to the discovered reader.


  6. Firmware Update:

    • On the first connection, the card reader will undergo a firmware update. During this process, you will be prompted to approve connection permissions. It’s crucial to monitor these prompts and approve them to ensure the update completes successfully.

  7. Finalize Connection:

    • Once the card reader is connected, it will appear in the CONNECTED READER section.

    • Return to the home screen to access your register or kiosk app to start using the card reader.
