Snackpass Devices Registration

Use this guide to complete the onboarding process for your SnackOS devices.

When Snackpass ships hardware devices to you, they're usually pre-registered to your account on the Snackpass Restaurant Dashboard. However, sometimes you may need to register them manually.

You can register:

  • A SnackOS device (Kiosk, Register, KDS, CPS, etc.)

  • A Printer (Receipt or Label)

  • A Stripe Terminal (Handheld Register)

How To Register Devices In The Snackpass Dashboard

There are two methods to register devices:

  1. Via SnackID (QR Code or Setup Code)

  2. Via Three-Word Code

Let’s go through both.

Method 1: Registering Via SnackID

There are two ways to start the registration process using SnackID, but both require you to complete the same registration steps after.

Step 1: Open The Snackpass Dashboard

You can open the Devices tab in the dashboard by either:

Option A: Scan The QR Code On The Device

  1. Power on the device.

  2. You'll see a QR code either:

    • On the main screen, or

    • Inside the SnackOS app.

  3. Use your phone or tablet to scan the QR code.

  4. This will open your browser to the Snackpass Dashboard login page.

  5. Log in with your admin account.

  6. You’ll be taken directly to the Devices tab.

Option B: Navigate Manually

  1. Open your browser and go to: www.dashboard.snackpass.co

  2. Log in with your admin account.

  3. From the left-hand menu, go to: Settings > Devices

Note: Whether you use Option A or B, you still need to manually complete the device registration using the setup or serial code.

Step 2: Register The Device

  1. In the Settings > Devices tab, click + Add Device (top right).

  2. Choose the device type you want to register:

    • SnackOS Device

    • Printer

    • Stripe Terminal

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Depending on the device type, enter the following information:

    • For SnackOS Devices:

      • Enter the Setup Code (5 characters: letters and numbers).

      • You can find this in the top-left corner of the SnackOS app.

    • For Printers (Receipt or Label):

      • Enter the Serial Number.

      • This is located on the back of the printer.

    • For Stripe Terminals:

      • Enter the Three-Word Code (e.g., canyon-mesa-dust).

      • This code is shown on the device screen when it's powered on.

  5. Click Next.

  6. Enter a Device Name (e.g., "Front Register", "Kitchen KDS").

  7. Click Next again.

  8. Finally, click Submit to complete the registration.


Method 2: Registering Via Three-Word Code

If your device shows a three-word code when you power it on (instead of a QR code), follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Devices in the dashboard.

  2. Click + Add Device.

  3. Choose the device type and click Continue.
    Note: Printers are always registered using their serial number. They do not support three-word code registration.

  4. Toggle "Use Three-Word Registration" at the top right.

  5. Enter the three-word code exactly as shown, with dashes between words (e.g. flat-bottles-jog).

  6. Follow the same steps:

    • Add a Device Name

    • Click Next, then Submit

📝 Notes:

  • QR Code is just a shortcut to the Devices page — it doesn't prefill any fields.

  • All methods eventually lead to the same +Add Device form.

  • 3-word codes are mostly used for Stripe Terminals, but occasionally appear on SnackOS devices too. Printers do not support three-word code registration.
