Step 1 - Unbox & Verify Contents (Handheld Register)
A. Unpack the Handheld Register & Countertop Dock, place it on a clean, flat surface.
B. Verify the box includes:
Handheld Register
Charging dock
USB-C charging cable
Power brick

Step 2 - Route USB-C Cable (Countertop Dock)
Choose one of the two paths below:
A. Front Route (curved channel)
Flip the countertop dock over and locate the curved front channel.
Press the USB-C cable into the channel until it sits fully in the groove.
Leave a small loop of slack so the connector can reach the port.
Plug the USB-C connector into the dock’s USB-C port.
B. Rear Route (rear slit)
Keep the dock upright.
Plug the USB-C connector into the dock’s USB-C port from the rear.
Snap the cable into the small rear slit/channel to hold it securely in place
Note: Keep the cable in the grooves so the dock sits flat, don’t force the connector, and leave a little slack near the port to prevent strain.
Step 3 - Place Reader onto Dock
A. Position and Seat the Reader
Hold the reader above the dock, aligning it with the docking area.
Ensure the pogo pins on the dock line up with the contacts on the bottom of the reader.
Lower the reader gently onto the dock until it sits flush.
Check that the reader is stable and does not shift around.
Note: Proper alignment is required for charging and data transfer—if the reader feels loose, lift and re-seat it until it locks into place securely.
Step 4 - Secure Reader to Dock (Optional)
A. Lock with Bottom Nut
Verify the reader is seated properly on the dock with pogo pins aligned.
Locate the lock nut at the bottom of the dock.
Twist the lock nut inward while turning it to the right.
Confirm the reader remains fully positioned on the dock as the lock nut tightens.
Note: The reader must be completely seated on the dock for the lock nut to secure properly.
Step 5 - Power On the Reader
A. Use Power Button
Locate the power button on the right side of the device.
Press and hold the button for 2–3 seconds.
Release the button once the screen turns on.
Note: Holding the button too briefly may not start the device—ensure a full 2–3 second press.
