Overview
This guide will walk you through setting up your physical gift card scanner with your D4 register, including dashboard setup and hardware installation.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Confirm Gift Card Settings
Before setting up the hardware, confirm that you’ve created a physical gift card in the Snackpass dashboard with the correct settings:
Go to the Snackpass Dashboard
Navigate to: Marketing > Gift Cards
Make sure you’ve enabled and configured a physical gift card option
Without the correct settings, the scanner will not function as expected.
Step 2: Connect The Scanner
Unbox the scanner and locate the USB cable.
Carefully remove the back cover of your D4 register for clean cable routing.
Plug the USB cable from the scanner into a USB port on the register.
Route the cable through the internal path, then reattach the back cover.
Step 3: Power On
Make sure your D4 register is powered on.
Once connected, the gift card scanner will automatically activate and be ready to use.
No software installation is required—the device will sync with the register automatically.
