Step 1. Attach the M2 Reader to the Dock

A. If using the kiosks mounted dock:

  • Position the card reader so that its slots align perfectly with the plastic docks tabs.

  • Ensure you hear or feel a "clicking" sound.

  • Gently move the reader to confirm it’s locked in place and not loose.

  • Plug the USB-C Cable in once the reader is secured.

B. If using the aluminum countertop dock:

  • Firmly press downward until the reader clicks or snaps into position, indicating a secure fit.

  • Ensure you hear or feel a "clicking" sound.

  • Gently move the reader to confirm it’s locked in place and not loose.

  • Plug the USB-C Cable in once the reader is secured.

Note: If the reader isn’t sliding down smoothly, carefully push it upward to remove it, and check to make sure it’s lined up correctly before trying again. Be careful not to push down too hard, as using too much force could cause the back cover of the reader to detach.

Step 2. Removing The M2 Card Reader

A. If using the kiosks mounted dock:

  • Locate the charging port on the bottom of the card reader.

  • With one hand hold the card reader in place, and unplug the USB-C cable before removal.

  • Using your thumb, gently push upward with even pressure. Use caution, as applying too much force may cause the reader to eject unexpectedly.

Note: Gently unplug the cable before handling the device. Do NOT pull away or the readers rear panel may come off.

B. If using the aluminum countertop dock:

  • Locate the charging port on the bottom of the card reader.

  • With one hand hold the card reader in place, and unplug the USB-C cable.

  • Push gently but firmly upward; avoid sudden or jerky movements or the reader may unexpectedly eject.

Note: Gently unplug the cable before handling the device. Do NOT pull away or the readers rear panel may come off.

Step 3. Final Hardware Checklist

Before completing setup, confirm the following:

Dock stability: Mounted kiosk dock is securely attached and properly aligned.

Reader fit: Reader sits flush in the dock with no looseness or movement.

Cable management: All cables are firmly connected and routed neatly to avoid tangles or strain.

Reader & aluminum countertop dock placement: Ensure the aluminum countertop dock is positioned in an accessible location for easy tap, & insert transactions.

Tips & Tricks – Hardware Installation Only

A. Unbox & Verify Components Carefully

  • Lay out all items included: M2 Reader, Plastic or Metal Dock, etc.

  • Keep packaging nearby in case a return or repack is needed.

B. Placement Matters

  • Position the dock where it's stable and accessible for customers.

  • Avoid placing it too close to the edge of counters where it might be bumped or knocked over.

C. Cable Routing

  • If routing through a countertop, measure cable length first to ensure slack.

  • Use zip ties or cable clips to secure excess slack and reduce clutter.
