Feature Walkthrough

Register

Search Feature

  • Navigate to the search button to access the search bar.

  • Use keywords or characters to search menu categories and items.

  • Results are listed alphabetically under relevant categories.

  • Cancel search by selecting "Cancel" on the right side of the search bar.

  • The application supports multiple languages for user convenience.

Adding Items to Cart From Search Results

  • Click on an item in the search results to view details.

  • Complete required fields to add the item to the cart.

Menu Overview

  • The default landing page lists menu categories alphabetically.

  • Categories are displayed from left to right and top to bottom in various colors.

  • Category order and colors are predetermined and cannot be customized.

Selecting Items from Menu

  • Select a category to view items within that category.

  • Items are displayed in the same order as seen on the dashboard.

  • Modify item selections as needed, and add items to the cart on the right column.

Item Customization and Cart Management

  • Adjust item quantities using the + and - buttons at the bottom left.

  • Remove items by clicking the red "remove" button or swiping left on the cart column.

  • Edit items directly from the cart to modify selections.

Adding Special Instructions

  • Include specific instructions for items using the notes feature.

  • Notes will appear on KDS, receipts, and labels for kitchen preparation.

Save Order for Later Checkout

  • Add all items to the cart and press "send" at the bottom right.

  • Optionally, enter customer information (phone number and name) to save the order.

  • Access saved orders from the orders tab in the left side menu under "unpaid."

Managing Unpaid Orders

  • View, modify, cancel, and complete unpaid orders from the orders tab.

  • Execute actions such as viewing order details, printing labels or receipts, voiding orders, or reopening orders for editing.

Kitchen Display & Orders

  • Unpaid orders are displayed on the Kitchen Display System (KDS) and Orders apps.

SMS Notifications

  • Customers receive texts for unpaid orders when the timer expires.

  • Paid order texts include a receipt link for app or online viewing.

Preset Discounts

  • Pre-set discounts are applied automatically based on configured rules.

  • Discounts can be managed on the Dashboard under Menu > Promos.

Custom Charges

  • Add custom charges using the Keypad tab on the register.

  • Custom charges are displayed separately and can include descriptive notes.

Gift Cards

  • Purchase digital gift cards online via the store's ordering site.

  • Redeem digital gift cards by entering the associated phone number.

Rewards Redemption

  • Redeem rewards by entering a phone number linked to a rewards account.

  • Rewards are applied during checkout and displayed on receipts and order details.

Manager Approval for Discounts

  • Discounts may require manager approval based on store settings.

  • Managers can enable discount permissions for employees on the Dashboard.

Handling Custom Charge-Only Orders

  • Place orders consisting solely of custom charges through the SnackOS keypad.

  • Include order notes for clarity, visible across management platforms.

Kiosk

Searching for Items

  • Click "Search Items" at the bottom of the menu screen to find specific menu items using keywords or characters. International languages are supported.

  • Click on an item in the search results to navigate to the item selection screen.

  • Add the item to the cart after completing the required fields.

  • Click "Done" at the bottom of the pop-up window to return to the main menu screen.

Adding Items to Cart

  • Click on the item's photo or the "+" icon to add it to the cart.

  • Ensure all required modifiers are selected before proceeding with the order.

  • Adjust the quantity of items by clicking the "+" or "-" icons.

  • Type specific notes for the order in the Preferences box at the bottom of the screen (this feature can be disabled in SETTINGS - ALL ORDERS - DISABLE NOTES).

Reward Redemption

  • Enter your phone number to redeem rewards linked to your account.

  • Apply available rewards to items in your cart according to promotion conditions.

Using Promo Codes

  • During checkout, click "Add Promo Code" and enter the promo code as prompted.

  • The discount will be applied immediately to your cart.

Using Gift Card Credit

  • For physical gift cards, click "Add Gift Card Code" during checkout and enter the code and PIN.

  • Digital gift cards are linked to your phone number; enter your phone number at checkout to use available credit.

  • Physical and digital gift card credits can be combined automatically if both are applicable.

Promotions on Kiosks

  • Active promotions appear at the top of the menu screen under the Promotions category.

  • Click on a promotion to view eligible items and discounted prices.

  • Use the search function to find specific items included in promotions.

  • Restart the kiosk app to ensure new promotions are immediately visible.

Supported International Numbers

  • Select your payment method and proceed to checkout.

  • For non-US phone numbers, click "Intl. Number" at the bottom of the phone number input modal.

  • Enter your country code followed by your phone number (e.g., +1 for the US).

  • Complete the checkout process as usual after entering your international phone number.

Orders

  • Order Visibility: Through the Orders app, users can view all ongoing orders and their statuses.

  • Scheduled Orders: Navigate to the Scheduled tab on the left to accept and review details of scheduled orders.

  • Managing Unpaid Orders: Use the Unpaid tab to manage unpaid orders. You can void orders or reopen them to edit items.

  • Manual Order Printing: To manually print an order, select the order and click the printer icon next to the total. Choose the printer for the order to be sent.

  • Completing & Delaying Orders: Click "Complete" to finalize an order. To delay an order, click "Delay" and specify the delay duration in minutes.

  • Refunding Orders: For refunds or partial refunds, click "Refund / Partial refund" at the bottom. Select a reason for the price adjustment.

Stock

  • Inventory Management: Use the Stock app to manage availability of menu items and modifiers by marking them as in stock or sold out.

  • Navigating Categories: On the left-side menu, choose either the items or modifiers category depending on what you're working with.

  • Filtering Options: At the top of the screen, select from three options: ALL, IN STOCK, or SOLD OUT based on your current needs.

  • Setting Items as Sold Out: To mark an item or modifier as sold out, click the blue "SET SOLD OUT" button on the right side of the item. Specify the time range for its unavailability and click UPDATE. The item will move to the SOLD OUT tab and remain visible in the ALL tab.

  • Extending Sold Out Period: To extend the out-of-stock period, go to the SOLD OUT tab, click the red SOLD OUT button beside the item or modifier, and select EXTEND OUT OF STOCK. Adjust the time range as needed.

  • Marking Items In Stock: To mark an item or modifier as in stock again, go to the SOLD OUT tab, click the SOLD OUT button beside the item, select IN STOCK, and click UPDATE.

KDS

  • Order Reception: When a new order arrives from any platform, it will show up instantly on the KDS app.

  • Managing Items: To mark an individual item as completed, simply click on its name within the order displayed on KDS.

  • Completing Entire Orders: Click the check mark located on the ticket header to mark the entire order as completed. The order status will change to blue, indicating it's done.

SnackTV

  • Order Status: You can view the status of their order (in progress or ready) using the SnackTV app.

  • Configuring SnackTV Settings:

    • Access settings by clicking the upper bar or the Snackpass logo in the upper right corner.

  • Audio Settings:

    • Toggle audio to announce customer orders when completed by an AI-generated voice.

  • Name Display Options:

    • Choose to display the customer's full first name or just their first initial.

  • Voice Selection:

    • Select your preferred AI-generated voice from a selection of 10 voices.

  • Font Customization:

    • Customize the display font according to your preference.

  • Saving Changes:

    • After configuring settings, click "Submit" to save your changes.

Shifts (Beta)

The SnackOS Shifts app is currently in beta. To activate this feature, please contact our support team for assistance. Once enabled by the Snackpass support team, you can access it directly from the home screen or via the left-side menu in any other SnackOS app.

  • To access the Shifts app from the home screen, just click on the app with that name.

  • If you're going to be using the menu, navigate to the Shifts app using the right side menu in SnackOS.

  • Enter your or the employee's PIN for clocking in, clocking out, or taking a break.

  • After entering the PIN, confirm your intention to clock in.

  • A confirmation message will appear once you are successfully clocked in.

  • To clock out or take a paid/unpaid break, reopen the Shifts app and enter your employee PIN again.

  • Select your desired option: clock out or take a break and confirm it.

  • If you opt to take a break, you'll need to select either paid or unpaid. For unpaid breaks, customize the duration of your break minutes.

  • To conclude a break early, re-enter your PIN and choose END BREAK.

  • When you're ready to finish your shift, input your PIN and click CLOCK OUT.

Switching Apps on S700 Devices

  • From the Home Screen: Simply the app you want to access.

  • Using the App Switcher: Alternatively, use the right side app switcher menu to switch to a different app directly from any screen. You get to this menu by swiping from the right side of the screen, to the left side of the screen.

How do I use the SnackOS settings on the S700 handheld register?

SnackOS settings enable you to customize various features and functionalities for your S700 handheld register device. You can access these settings from your home screen by tapping on the settings app, or through the right-side menu by selecting the same option.

Once you're in the SnackOS settings, these will be divided into three different categories: Device, Apps, More.

Device

  • Info & Support: This page displays your device's details such as the serial number and current app version. It also provides contact information for partner support.

  • Network: In the network settings, you can connect your device to WiFi. Simply tap WiFi Settings, select your network, and enter the password. You can also run a WiFi speed test by tapping SPEED TEST.

  • Card Reader: Since your device doubles as a card reader, selecting this option allows you to simply click CONNECT, instantly preparing the handheld register to accept payments.

  • Voice Announcements: When enabled, completed orders will be announced audibly regardless of the app you're using on SnackOS. Ensure a Bluetooth speaker is connected for sound output.

Apps

Through the Apps tab, you will be able to to change your orders kitchen status in case your store needs to go into rush hours or pause all orders at the same time.

  • Rush Hour: Tap on Rush Hour and choose the duration or customize it for that rush period. This alerts customers about potential delays due to increased orders. You can also add extra wait times to estimated pickup times. Once configured, press Confirm to start the rush hour. To end it early, click End Rush Hour.

  • Pause Orders: To temporarily stop all orders, select Pause and specify the duration and reason. This prevents customers from placing orders online or through the app and notifies them that your store is temporarily closed. Press Confirm to pause your store. To reopen before the designated time, click Reopen Store.

More

On the More tab, we have three helpful features for your SnackOS device.

  • Android Settings: Selecting this option grants access to your Android settings where you can make adjustments for WiFi, Bluetooth, and even reboot the entire device.

  • Restart App: Use this feature to restart the S700 handheld register SnackOS app if needed.
