Troubleshooting: Microtouch monitor

This guide will provide some troubleshooting steps for the Microtouch monitor

Troubleshooting

My monitor is not powering on

  1. Press the power button on the back of the monitor to make sure your monitor is not in sleep mode

  2. Make sure the power cable is properly connected and connection points are fully seated:

    1. Power cord is connected to a functioning outlet providing 120V AC

      1. Try another outlet or powering a different device into the chosen outlet to confirm functionality

    2. AC to DC adapter is connected to the AC power cord (make sure it is fully seated, push the cables together to confirm)

    3. The monitor is connected to the AC to DC adapter (make sure it is fully seated, push the cable into the monitor to confirm)

  3. Reboot your monitor

    1. Locate the power cable on the bottom side of the monitor

    2. Unplug the power cable from the wall and wait 5 seconds

    3. Plug the power cable back into the wall outlet

      1. The monitor should turn on automatically, Microtouch startup screen will appear

      2. If the monitor does not turn on automatically, try pressing the power button on the back of the monitor

  4. Check to see if the cable has any physical damage

  5. If your store has more than one Microtouch monitor (Do not use a cable from a different brand monitor, this will permanently damage your monitor. Only use a cable from an existing Microtouch device), unplug the cable from the other monitor and plug the other cable into the original monitor.

    1. This is a temporary solution, if a cable swap solved the issue, call the Snackpass customer support team for a replacement cable

  6. If none of the above steps have solved your issue or you are having trouble with any of the steps, please contact the Snackpass customer support team at +1 866 868 2146 (call) or message us using the Partner App!

The touch responsiveness is slow or not functioning

  1. Check for any physical damage on the monitor

  2. Make sure you have a good internet connection

    1. Try a new ethernet cable (Skip this step if your device is connected over WiFi or you do not have another cable)

    2. Check your WiFi speed (Skip this step if your device is connected over ethernet)

      1. If your WiFi speed is slower than 12 Mbps download speeds or 5 Mbps upload speeds, move the device closer to the router, try restarting your router and contact your ISP (internet service provider) for any further network support

  3. Exit and re-open the Snackpass application

    Note: If you cannot access the restart button, you can skip this step

  4. Reboot your monitor

    1. Locate the power cable on the bottom side of the monitor

    2. Unplug the power cable from the wall and wait 5 seconds

    3. Plug the power cable back into the wall outlet

      1. The monitor should turn on automatically, Microtouch startup screen will appear

      2. If the monitor does not turn on automatically, try pressing the power button on the back of the monitor

  5. If none of the above steps have solved your issue or you are having trouble with any of the steps, please contact the Snackpass customer support team at +1 866 868 2146 (call) or message us using the Partner App!

My monitor is not connecting to the internet or has a slow internet connection

  1. Try a new ethernet cable (Skip this step if your device is connected over WiFi or you do not have another cable)

  2. Check your WiFi speed (Skip this step if your device is connected over ethernet)

    1. If your WiFi speed is slower than 12 Mbps download speeds or 5 Mbps upload speeds, move the device closer to the router, try restarting your router and contact your ISP (internet service provider) for any further network support

My monitor is not connecting to the card reader

Product warnings

  1. For Model A and Model B, never lift the kiosk by the monitor, this can permanently damage your hardware. Always lift from the base or use a dolly

  2. This device is not rated for outdoor use and will get damaged with prolonged outdoor exposure

  3. Do not use volatile solvents, waxes or any abrasive cleaners on any part of the monitor

Cleaning instructions

  1. Turn off the product and disconnect from AC power before cleaning. Turning the product off protects against accidental touch selections that could cause problems or hazardous results. Disconnecting power protects against hazardous interaction between accidental liquid entry and electricity.

  2. To clean the device, dampen a clean cloth lightly with water and a mild detergent and wipe gently. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean areas that have ventilation openings to avoid getting any liquid or moisture inside.

  3. If liquid does get inside, do not use the product until it has been inspected and tested by a qualified service technician.

  4. To clean the touch screen, apply a glass cleaning solution to a soft cloth and wipe the screen clean.

  5. To ensure that liquid does not enter the product, do not spray cleaning solution directly onto the touch screen or any other part.
