How do I install my KDS device?

Follow these steps to ensure your KDS device is set up correctly:

  1. Power On Your Device

  2. Connect To WiFi:

    • Go to Settings by clicking the gear icon.

    • Click on Open WiFi Settings.

    • Select your WiFi network from the list and connect.


  3. Return To The Welcome Screen

    • Here, you’ll see a QR Code and a 5-character Setup Code.

  4. Scan The QR Code:

    • You will be brought up to the Snackpass dashboard to continue with the process.

    • If you manage multiple stores, ensure you’re logged into the correct one in the top left corner.

  5. Access Settings:

    • Alternatively, you can manually access the Snackpass dashboard, go to the left side menu, click on the Settings tab in the left-hand menu, then select Devices.

  6. Add Your Device:

    • Click Add Device and choose SnackOS.


  7. Enter Setup Details:

    • Input your device's Setup Code, name your device, and click Next and then Submit.


  8. Edit Device Settings:

    • Once registered, click on your new device and select the edit icon in the top right.

  9. Enable Register Mode:

    • Toggle on Register Mode, and disable Allow Card Payment, and save your changes.


  10. Device Reboot:

    • After you save the changes above, your device will reboot immediately and apply the changes. Once it powers back on, you’ll see the Connect Card Reader screen. Click Settings.

  11. Access Experimental Settings:

    • Once in Settings, on the left side menu, scroll down and select Experimental.

  12. Disable Reader:

    • Find the Enable Reader toggle and turn it off.

  13. Confirmation:

    • After you disable it, it'll ask you to confirm the action it to restart the device.

14. SnackOs Home Screen.

  • Once the device is restarted, you will be brought to the SnackOs Home Screen. From here, select the Kitchen Display (KDS) app to get started!
